Parking lot epiphanies..
So I went to the grocery store to belly up to their titanic salad bar for lunch today. I was also dispatched with errands from high command, inclusive in the list being 'get smokes' which I intended to do anyway to keep from strangling someone to death with my id badge lanyard.
On my way into the building, I hear someone's car alarm go off. Did I stop in my tracks, chin held high and cape blowing in the breeze to bound into action and save the day?
No, of course not, I kept walking. Oh, I gave a passive glance to see if I could immediately identify which car it was, but I couldn't so I didn't even break stride. I've heard so many car alarms going off I wonder as to how effective they really are. If your car is parked outside a huge megamall, what are the chances you're going to hear your own alarm? That's all it's really good for, is the off-chance that you hear it when it goes off outside your house or whatever, but in public places with acres and acres of relatively smooth, adequately portioned blacktop you'd be better off tying a dog to the bumper and taking your chances. The only thing I've seen a car alarm prevent is the car from starting after it's been going off all day to the annoyance of everyone else.
Maybe I'm just a bad person, but I don't think I'm alone in the arena of car alarm apathy.

Funny post. Yes I agree with you on car alarms. Funny timing on your post. This morning around 7 am. I heard a car alarm from the nearby town. My farm is about a mile away from said town & I could hear the alarm clearly. The idiots took their sweet time shutting the damn thing off! LOL
Brian damn a mile away, can you hear a mouse fart there too lol.
Monkey I used to work at a Jeep dealership and man those aftermarket alarm's would just piss us tech's off I.E.
Kill switch, low battery, remote not working,or having to tap the remote whilst tring to start the damn car.But to date the worst vehicle I had to work on more than once was a 2001 Durango with a Breathalizer in it,I had to bypass it everytime I wanted to start it and that involed many step's.
maglite to the rear blinkers.
i didnt tell u this.
Having a breathalizer in my truck might not suck too bad. It would have come in handy last night, minus the whole "not starting" thing, that would get old.
